Hi, I'm Jeanette
When I make and teach using natural resources grown on the land, I connect myself and others to nature and heritage. I'm passionate about supporting communities and environments, connecting through slow craft and arts activities.
Background
After studying art and design in Belfast School of Art, and specialising in weaving and design, I felt conflicted about the damage caused to our planet by the textile industry. I turned instead to experimenting with natural fibres and materials for artistic expression. Using willow as a raw material, and its potential for making art, functional pieces and construction, fed into a life-long curiosity for engineering and design - I was hooked.
